5 Fashion Moments from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

When brainstorming a blog post, a lot of times I start by scrolling through my pictures looking for inspiration.

Last summer, I went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and I somehow never blogged the handful of fashion moments I took pictures of.

Here are five fashion moments from the 2023 museum with commentary on why I think I chose to take these specific pictures. All of these artists have different sounds, but I’m able to find pieces of their style I admire.

90s Fashion with Tina

Two dresses after my own heart – a 1996 dress designed by Gianni Versace, and a 1990 Azzedine Alaïa. Both are gorgeous mini/micro dresses I’d wear in a heartbeat.

What’s bigger than Thriller?

The iconic jacket from the 1983 video is one of the most recognizable pieces of clothing of all time. I can’t help but think somewhere way in my subconscious, my love for a good structured jacket, leather or not, can partially be attributed to Michael Jackson.

Boho style with Stevie

I absolutely love how clothes worn by Stevie Nicks are a perfect visual of the way her and Fleetwood Mac’s music sounds.

Whitney Houston

Whitney’s display had a Dolce moment and a black bedazzled suit placed next to each other. In my mind, these are outfits that would be worn by a woman who holds strength inside and a powerful voice/talent that will always outshine any kind of clothes.

Dolly

When talking about a signature style or look, who’s a better example than Dolly Parton? For decades and decades, she’s been a committed, consistent queen.
