What’s on My Bookshelf: Fashion Edition

I have so many books, and a lot of them are fashion related. So why not blog about them every now and then?

To start, I’m sharing three of my favorite books in my collection that really reflect me and all that I love.

The Chiffon Trenches

Andre´ Leon Talley, 2020

This was a book I made sure to go to the bookstore and purchase when it came out because it meant so much to me. The memoir talks of the icon’s life and accomplishments that have paved the way for black people who aspire to be in the world of fashion.

Basic Face

Cindy Crawford, 1996

If you know me, then you know that my favorite time period is that of the 90s supermodel. This book is an amazing visual by one of the greatest supermodels to ever do it. It’s full of tips I’m saving for when I get more into make up, as well as great advice on embracing your natural beauty.

One World of Fashion

M.D.C. Crawford, 1955

This is a huge, vintage book full of fashion history ranging from ancient times up to the present day of when the book was published (1950s). This is the kind of stuff I absolutely love and makes me nerd out. It’s so fascinating to see how what was brand new trend-wise at the time has changed and evolved.
