What’s on My Bookshelf: Fashion Edition series part 19
75 Years of Oscar Style
People Magazine, 2003
With the Oscars coming up, what better time to pull out this book? I’m someone who loves following pop culture, so of course I take a scroll through the Oscar nominations when they’re announced. This year I’m completely team Cynthia Erivo and Wicked.
This book covers the fashion worn at the first Oscars in 1929 up until when the book was published. A book like this is a great place to pull inspo from if you love vintage outfits and truly classic, timeless fashion.
The second best thing about this book is it doesn’t just list all the award winners. Instead, it focuses what what the stars wore. There’s even that sense of juicy gossip with sassy commentary and a section dedicated to the best and worst dressed.
